| PARENTS & FRIENDS OF NESTON HIGH SCHOOLNeston High School, like most schools, has always had a P.T.A., one where a small group of parents and teachers work together to support the school. In 2008, we were formally renamed as “The Parents and Friends of Neston High School”. This decision evolved from a desire to include those who perhaps were not parents or teachers but wished to become involved in working together for a common aim – Neston High School. This in turn will, we hope, enhance the school’s position within the broader Community of Neston. We are now in the exciting position of being a diverse group whose meetings are as much informal, social gatherings as hotbeds of decision-making! Much has been achieved to support the school in ever more creative ways:- A highly enjoyable – and profitable - Christmas Market which has fully engaged staff and pupils from the school and encouraged local businesses to become involved Year 7 Parents Welcome Evening – an informal “get-together” over cheese and wine Enabling the PE department to purchase a Satellite Navigation System for use within the Duke of Edinburgh Award scheme – apparently invaluable! Purchasing shirts and waistcoats for the School Band, creating a greater sense of identity as they tour on behalf of NHS Providing invaluable financial support for a visit from a teacher from our partner school in Cape Town. Setting up a “400 Club” for parents or friends to take their chance on winning! In addition to the above, there is the ongoing desire to look for new ways to support school and all who work and learn there. Our aim this year is to support the renewal of stage lighting in Stewart Hall. Making money is not central to our philosophy, it has happened through hard work and commitment and a whole lot of laughs! Don’t forget – all money raised is for the benefit of the students |
