Neston High School Awards

TLA (Teacher Learning Academy)

We have been selected as one of only 100 schools nationally to be a Teacher Learning Academy.

Research has shown that schools with an ethos where teachers continually learn and apply their learning to new and changing situations, can improve learning at all levels in addition to building on their expertise and developing new and innovative teaching to inspire students in their learning. We are delighted to be at the forefront of this exciting and innovative development

Mr S Dool

IIP (Investors in People)

We have been recognised as an establishment which meets the IIP standards.

Strengths of the school have been identified as: having a clear vision, which is well shared with staff, students and parents; having a strong reputation as an inclusive school; the expectation that leaders and managers act as positive role models and people throughout the school are recognised and valued for their achievements; there is a continuing commitment to developing people’s skills and knowledge.

Mr J Mason

IQM (Inclusion Quality Mark)

Assessors said that, “It is evident from the school’s literature and web site that inclusive principles underpin the aims of Neston High School where ‘each member of the school community has a unique and equal worth".

Pupils’ attitudes, values and personal development are a significant strength of the school. Examples include a very effective Peer Support Team and participation in the Wirral Civic Award Scheme. Teaching and learning are significant strengths in the school where great emphasis is placed on the individual learning needs of each student and a raft of strategies are in place to support this. Community involvement is a significant strength in the school at local, national and international level.

INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL AWARD

The school has been recognised for its vibrant and thriving work with partner schools across the world.

We have partnerships with schools in France, Germany, The Netherlands, Spain, Poland, New Zealand and South Africa. This year students visited France (year 8 to Eragny, year 12 to Paris, years 7-10 to Graulhet), Germany (years 9, 10 and 12) and we welcomed staff from our partner schools in Cape Town (Bergvliet High School and Crystal High School) to Neston as part of our Afritwin Project.
